DSA case: Dhaka court accepts charges against cartoonist Kishore, 6 others
Today, the Dhaka Tribunal accepted six charges against Ahmed Kabir Kishore and six other defendants in a case under Digital Security Act. The allegations were allegedly related to spreading rumours or anti-government activities. Other accused include: Zulkarnain Saer Khan, a Hungarian entrepreneur, who alias Sami runs Netra News; Minhaj Mannan Emon managing director of BLE Securities, shareholder-director at Dhaka Stock Exchange; Didarul Islam who is a member of the politicocivic organisation Rashtrachinta; Ashik Iran; and Shapan wahed. They were all earlier detained and are currently on bail. After reviewing the case dockets, Judge Mohammad Ash Sams Joglul Hossain from Dhaka Cyber Tribunal agreed to the charges. Ashik, Tasmeem and Shapan were listed as "fugitives" on the charge sheet, and they were issued arrest warrants by the tribunal.
